Asharqia Chamber presents you with its best greetings, and would like to inform you of receiving the letter of the Saudi Chamber Council No. (980) dated 23/4/1440, which referred to the letter of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority No. (30962 / p) dated (19/4/1440), which includes the efforts of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority to monitor and follow up the safety of locally marketed cosmetic products based on the cosmetic products system issued by the Royal Decree No. (M / 49) dated (18/6/1436).
Therefore, samples of eye makeup products were collected and analyzed in local markets to ensure their safety.
The results of the analysis showed that two products of eye makeup were included a high percentage of nitrosamine, which is contrary to the provisions of the list of requirements for safety in cosmetics and personal care No. GSI / SFDA.CO 1943: 2016.
The first product bears the name "Markt Mekyaach Cinema Blacks Mascara 4 in 1 Black" and the second product is "Kiss Beauty Lash Queen Feline Blacks Mascara."
They are exposure to high percentages of nitrosamine that may cause health risks to the consumer.
As requested by the Authority, the sale of these products shall not be permitted in the facility and returned to their suppliers and the importers and distributors of these products withdrawn from the outlets and warehouses and coordination with the Authority to destroy them to avoid the issuance of penalties against them.
